Carmen Diaz, known by her stage name as Ms. Carmen.

She started singing at the age of three. Her mother would record her songs on cassette tape as she would beat on cardboard boxes, sing and rap about her experiences at preschool with her friends. She then moved on to standing up on the seats singing on buses as she entered grade school. Eventually she joined the choir at church and was a praise and worship leader and soloist. Leaving home at 17 for college she continued her love for music, taking vocal lessons and joining the marching band.

Shortly after graduation from Morgan State University, she moved to Motown, Detroit, MI.
